Kołobrzeg · small groups since 2011

Tours by halves. Half planned, half yours.

Every day on our trips has a guided morning and a free afternoon. We start from a 1906 spa house on the Polish Baltic coast, which has its own brine pool, a winter garden and a small casino on the ground floor.

How it works

Mornings with a guide, afternoons on your own

You meet the group after breakfast. The guide leads the walk, the ride or the boat until lunch, and the route is fixed, so you know what you are signing up for. Lunch is often together, never compulsory.

After that the day is yours. Some guests go back to the beach, some sleep, some ask the guide for a second walk. The van carries luggage and anyone who has had enough. That is the whole idea, and the reason for our name.

Where the Baltic trips begin

A spa house on the promenade

The Half Casual house was built in 1906 as a bathing hotel for visitors who came to Kołobrzeg for the salt water. It has 31 rooms, a glass winter garden facing the sea and a pool filled with brine from the town's springs.

The Kołobrzeg week and the coast ride start and end here. Wolin finishes here. On the other trips we use hotels we have known for years.

Ground floor

The casino behind the winter garden

The Casual Room is part of the house: five tables and a small bar in what was, for forty years, the amber workshop where local craftsmen cut and polished stones from the beach. It opens every evening in summer and on Friday and Saturday the rest of the year.

From the desk you walk twenty-two steps across the hall and past the cloakroom, never outside. A member of staff checks a passport or ID card at the door of the casino every time, and nobody under 18 goes in.

Limits, breaks and how to stop

Three things people ask first

Do I pay when I book?

No. You send the booking form, and a manager phones you within 48 hours. Payment only comes after that call, by bank transfer, once you have the written confirmation.

What if I want company in the afternoon?

Ask the guide at lunch. There is usually a second, shorter walk for anyone who wants one.

Can I join from abroad?

Yes. About half our guests come from outside Poland, and every trip is led in English and Polish.
