Region
The Polish Baltic coast
The shore
Five hundred kilometres of sand run from the German border to the Bay of Gdańsk, almost all of it public beach backed by dunes and pine. The sea is shallow, cool and nearly tideless; in July the water reaches about 20 degrees.
Towns
Kołobrzeg, Mielno, Ustka and Łeba are resort towns with piers and promenades. Between them lie fishing villages and long empty stretches, which the R10 bike route links up.
When to go
June to early September for swimming, May and late September for riding and walking with fewer people. Winter is grey and windy, but our house stays open and the brine pool is warm.
For the age and ID rules at gaming rooms on these routes, read the entry rules.
